UPDATES FOR SEP 13-27, 2021

1) PREP FOR RAIN & FALL WEATHER

We finally have rain in the forecast. Potentially lots of it! Have you prepped your house for the rain? Mayor King, our Council, and Public Works request that you spend a few minutes this week checking your home's gutters, downspouts, and drainage ditches for obstructions. A few minutes spent cleaning these items may prevent thousands of dollars in water damage and repairs.

2) YAHMHILL COUNTY TRANSIT SERVICE CHANGES

Effective September 8th, Yamhill County Transit is changing their service. Please click here for more information.

3) WATER METER REPLACEMENT

The City of Amity will be replacing water meters throughout the City from September 20th through October 1st.

During this process individual water users may experience disruptions to service ranging from 15 to 90 minutes, based on the work required. Water users may experience a loss of water pressure, a temporary loss of water, or air in the line causing sputtering from one's faucets. Once the new meter is operating, these issues will go away.

Unfortunately, we cannot provide individual water users a schedule of specific times/dates when one's water service interruption may occur.

Additionally, Amity Public Works and their contractors will be seen working on and around the meter location, which may include being on one's private property. Please allow them space around the meter to complete the work.

This project was approved by our Mayor and Council to keep improving Amity's water infrastructure and our water service to you! This project is being paid for through federal American Relief Plan Act funding and will not impact your rates.

Any questions stemming from the replacement process, once begun, may be directed to Public Works at 503.835.4181.

4) MASK MANDATE 8/27/21

Beginning Aug 27th, anyone entering City Hall, Public Works, the Library, or attending any City events, either indoor or outdoor, will need to wear a mask. This is in accordance with State guidance.
