UPDATES FOR APRIL 16-20, 2021
1) CITY COUNCIL VACANCY
The City of Amity is currently accepting applications for a City Councilor. Eligible applicants will be presented to Council for a vote at the next available Council meeting after the application is received and vetted. Eligible applicants will be notified of their meeting with Council and must be present in person at City Hall during the meeting to be interviewed.
1) Of legal voting age and registered to vote in Oregon.
2) A continuous resident inside Amity City Limits for at least 1-year immediately preceding the date of appointment.
Also, applicants must reside in Amity City Limits during their tenure. Applicants may be subject to background checks.

Budget Committee Vacancies. The City has 5 open Budget Committee positions. If you're interested in being on the Budget Committee, please contact City Hall for an application or fill out the attached application and return it to City Hall by April 23, 2021. Be available to attend May 5, 2021 City Council meeting to be interviewed for the Committee.
Planning Commission Vacancies. As of April 12th, the City has 2 open planning commission positions. If you're interested in becoming a commissioner, please contact City Hall for an application or fill out the attached application and return it to City Hall.

3) Drought and Backyard Burning
The National Weather Service is expecting a rather severe fire season this year, due to below average rainfall and snow accumulation since last summer. Large swaths of the state are already experiencing drought conditions. What does this mean for you? Backyard burning, campfires, fireworks and other fire hazard events may be restricted during the upcoming summer months.
