Parking:

No person shall stand or park a vehicle in a street other than parallel with the edge of the roadway, headed in the direction of lawful traffic movement and with the curbside wheels of the vehicle within twelve inches of the edge of the curb where a curb exists or as close to the edge of the firm surface of the road as possible where there is no curb.   

Where parking space markings are placed on a street, no person shall stand or park a vehicle other than in the indicated direction and, unless the size or shape of the vehicles makes compliance impossible, within a single marked space.

Graffiti:

It is unlawful and a violation of this Ordinance for any person to place or put by any means any type of graffiti on any public or private property. If you see graffiti please report it to the Code Enforcement Officer at 503-835-8606 so that it can be documented properly.

Nuisances:

Every resident and visitor of Amity has the right to a safe and pleasant atmosphere to live, work, or visit. 

Nuisance is usually described as an activity or condition that is harmful or annoying to others. Some common examples of nuisances include but are not limited to:

  • Grass, Shrubbery, Weeds and Noxious Growth

  • Barking Dogs

  • Unnecessary Noise

  • Abandoned Vehicles

  • Junk

Recreational Vehicle (RV) Stay:

No mobile home or trailer or pickup camper off of its vehicle shall be parked at the curb or any city street for more that 48 hours in any 30-day period. No person shall maintain or use a mobile home, trailer, or pickup camper, whether on or off its vehicle, for dwelling or sleeping purposes, at any location other than a mobile home park or RV park, licensed as such by the City of Amity, except after obtaining a permit from the City.
